Man’s needs stem from the Genesis 3 rebellion.
Man’s Need of Purpose:
• Wired for God.
• Man finds purpose in glorifying God and enjoying Him forever.
Glorifying God “Reflect Him”
• Be fruitful
• Multiply, fill the earth
• Rule
• Do Justly
• Love Mercy
• Walk Humbly with your God
• Obey and do God’s Word
Serve God with Gladness (Psalm 100)

Enjoy: To Take Pleasure in or Delight in.

1. Delight in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
• Isaiah 61:10 “I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.”
2. Delight in His Word.
• Psalm 1:2 “but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.”
• Psalm 119:35 “Lead me in the path of your commandments, for I delight in it.”
• Romans 7:22 “For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being.”
3. Delight in God’s Deeds.
• 1 Samuel 2:1 “And Hannah prayed and said, “My heart exults in the Lord; my horn is exalted in the Lord. My mouth derides my enemies, because I rejoice in your salvation.”
• Proverbs 14:9 “Fools mock at the guilt offering, but the upright enjoy acceptance.”
• 1 Timothy 6:17 “As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.”
How to Enjoy God

TO GLORIFY HIM IS TO ENJOY HIM!

1. Imitate Him
• Ephesians 5:1 “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.”
2. Serve the Lord with gladness
• 1 John 5:2-3 “By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.”
3. Deuteronomy 6:5 “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.”
