Catechism

Luke 1:1-4 1Inasmuch as many have undertaken to compile a narrative of the things that have been accomplished among us, 2just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word have delivered them to us, 3it seemed good to me also, having followed all things closely for some time past, to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, 4that you may have certainty concerning the things you have been taught.

In the twentyfirst century, we can be just as certain as Theophilus concerning the things we have been taught. It is both our privilege and obligation to ensure that the next generations are just as certain concerning the things they will be taught.

An important tool for achieving this is our catechism class. We encourage sixth and seventh graders to enroll and study the Westminster Shorter Catechism. It is a two year program that runs from September through May.

Reading assignments and memory work are completed on a weekly basis. This course is challenging, rewarding, and, Oh yes, LOTS OF FUN. Lively discussion is a regular feature of our class time. Just ask some of our graduates.

Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God,
keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations
of those who love him and keep his commands.
